Yesterday I get back from Krakow, Poland. An international meeting was held as part of ECOLL project, see more at ECOLL website. There are partners fom Poland, Italy, Finland and Estonia in this EU financed project.
Hot topic, under discussion right now, is ecotourism curriculum.
In order to get better overview what is going on, I have made a little google research about existing Ecotourism Curricula in different countries. There is not very much information available on web, but here are some findings:
- University of Eberswalde (in Germany) has created the Sustainable Tourism Management course which was officially accredited in 2004. Graduates are awarded the internationally recognised Master of Arts (M.A.) degree. Their Curriculum is available on web, and also brief descriptions of all moduls (54kB) as .pdf file.
- Fleming College runs Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism Management program at its Haliburton campus, in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands, Canada.
- TIES website has Ecotourism Education University and College Fact Sheet at their site, listing schools in US, UK, Canada and Australia
